How do I book wedding photography with Merv Spencer Photography?

There are a couple of ways you can book your Wedding Photography with Merv Spencer Photography.

Firstly, you can enquire online to see if your date is free, you can do this by clicking on the Check Your Wedding Date link.

Once I have confirmed that this is free, we can then arrange a chat at my Heanor based studio or you can visit me at one of the Wedding Fayres I am attending.

Once you know you’d like to book me, you can complete the online wedding photography booking form and pay the non-refundable booking fee of £100.00.

We can also complete the relevant forms at my studio if this is easier for you.

How many photographers will attend?

Usually just Merv Spencer himself, will attend and photograph your wedding. It’s not about how many photographs that are taken on the day, it’s about the coverage and ensuring that Merv is responsible for capturing your special day.

Experience is the key when it comes to getting the photos, spotting opportunities, timing and working alongside the English weather.

How many photographs will we receive?

Merv Spencer has been working in the wedding photography industry for a long time and the quantity of photos can be different for each and every wedding.

Merv used to working with film, so the main aim is to get the photo right first time and not waste an opportunity. The benefit to you is that you won’t receive lots photographs that look the same.

On average we will provide you with approximately 200-230 different images from your special day. (Most people tell us, they feel this is more than enough)

What is your style of photography?

Merv’s style of photography is classed as natural and traditional. We’ve seen over the years and from experience, that wedding photographs are to be treasured and its important to get the shots that really matter.

This is why we discuss with you the photographs that you would like and who you want in the group shots, possible photo walks and natural shots.

Our photos are not highly edited and we want to keep as close to the true colours of the day as possible, so the photographs are timeless.

Do you take backup cameras?

Merv takes along no less than 3 cameras on the day, to ensure full coverage this also helps eliminate swapping of lenses, ensuring that the photography is free-flowing.

What if Merv Spencer falls ill?

Merv has been covering weddings now for the last 30 years and has not missed one. Merv is also part of a large network of professional wedding photographers, that should the worst happen, Merv Spencer will ensure that your day is covered.

What if it rains on our wedding day?

Being based in the UK, the chances of rain is quite high, even in the height of summer. Umbrellas are always on hand just in case but it will be encouraged that we try and take you outdoors to get some shots.

Where required, photographs can be taken indoors but remember, this is your special day and you only have one chance to get it right.

After we are married, how long do the photographs take?

After the ceremony, we usually ask for 1 hour to an hour and a half. During this time all of the family groups and the pectorals are shot.

We always discuss with you during the pre-wedding chat the photos you want us to capture, which makes the day easier for all sides.

Do we get an online gallery – can our guests see them too?

Yes, all customers will get an online gallery that will go live usually within 10 days after your wedding day. The gallery is password protected and you can share this with your guests at any time.

Your family, friend and guests can also use the online gallery to purchase and download photographs at a discounted price.

How do we receive our wedding photographs?

We provide your wedding photographs on a disc or a memory stick, which ever suits you. If you prefer a digital download we can organise for a link to come over that you can download directly to your computer.

We aim to have all images edited and ready for viewing within 10 days from the date of your wedding.

What is dress code of the Wedding Photographer?

Merv Spencer knows how important it is to look smart on the day of your wedding. He will be wearing trousers and a smart (logo) shirt.

Do you offer engagement photograph shoots?

Yes, for sure. We love to capture the special moment of the engagement and this can be done at our professional photography studio in Heanor or at a location of your choice to get some classy natural shots.

Are you insured?

Yes, Merv Spencer has full professional indemnity and liability insurance which covers all aspects of the photography services offered.

Where are you based and will you travel?

Whilst Merv is primarily based in Derbyshire, it is not uncommon to cover wedding venues in Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire.

Other locations in the UK can also be covered and have included the Lake District, Norfolk and Yorkshire. Price is on application.

Do you photograph the first dance?

The first dance is not included within the package prices and is not recommended by Merv Spencer Photography. However, should you wish for Merv to capture this moment, you can add this on as an extra.

Do the wedding photography prices include VAT?

All of the prices quoted include the VAT and as Merv Spencer is not VAT registered, there is no additional taxes to pay.
