Field Photographic in Heanor was the start of Merv Spencer Photography, with huge thanks to Matt Lowe, fellow professional photographer.

Matt Lowe originally joined in 1989 on a two year training scheme, having obtained a City & Guilds qualification in photography, Matt was later awarded the Licentiateship of British Institute of Professional Photography. Matt purchased Field Photography from the owner Chris Buxton in 2000.

Merv Spencer joined Field Photographic just after the turn of the Millenium, having run a successful Videograph company for many years, with his wife Carol. Merv joined as a Wedding Photographer however, he finds himself more comfortable in the studio creating fantastic portraits.

Merv and Matt separated ways in 2018 with Matt concentrating on Commercial and Wedding Photography and Merv concentrating on Portraits and Weddings, whilst still being based in a Heanor based photography studio.
